| GROSS INJUSTICE .... BIAS against Rahman by cnn-ibn |

Today morning , i was just checking out the morning news on cnn-ibn .
There was this poll for the greatest tamilian of all time . MS ,
Periyar , Abdul kalam , Rajni and Ilayaraja have been nominated . No
nomination for the only and real maestro :( .
I dont know in what way Ilayaraja has contributed more than A R
Rahman for India or even in promotion of Tamil music in India (note
not TAmil NAdu) , I respect Ilayaraja , his music and his evergreen
melodies . But no way can he edge out Rahman for the prize of all
time best Tamil . This looks like a clearly biased list and its sad
that a Padmashri awardee and a potential Bharat ratna awardee has
been given the pass :( .
I just wanna know what my fellow Tamils and non-Tamils in this forum
feel about this injustice .
Mark my words , Rahman probably can be compared to Bharatiyar in
terms of evoking patriotism and his role in promoting tamil culture .
In no way is he inferior , if at all superior(which is grossly
obvious!!:)) then any regional music director that Tamil Nadu has
ever seen !!! Tell me in the recording history, which recording
artist insisted on having a Tamil Song as a condition for signing the
agreement , Rahman did so for a Tamil version of Vande Mataram with
Sony music! Rahman is up there with the trinity of music , so what if
he composes film music , his knowledge in music both carnatic and
folk , is unparalleled , his future works Inshallah will reflect just
that . Wait till u guys see the opening song in Sivaji . I heard in
Tamil music history , no song has been composed with this intensity
and folk application . Rahman , Tamil Nadu needs you and so does
Tamil music .Come back if you are reading this , we are tired of the
jeyarajs and yuvans who just rehash ur old tunes and attempt 'hip-
hop'....jeez what crap.
Ur the real Raja and Isai gnani .....!!! All the best for Guru and
Jodha bhai . I wish u overtake Naushaad with the music of AkbarJodha
and lets hope u win more hearts with these attempt than awards , cos
filmfare awards and national awards are for lesser mortals like our
very own regional music directors who have so much head weight , ur
much more than just a nomination material for these rigged awards . I
still cannot forgive Filmfare for giving Main hoon naa best music
award over Swades inspite of u winning best BAckground music
composer ! , Joke of the century.... :DDDD !
